What immersive technology is used to enhance the experience?
The Rift uses smartphone-based interaction and bone-conduction headphones to enhance the real-world environment. It’s not a VR experience—there are no screens or headsets blocking your view—so you can stay connected with your surroundings and your group as you explore together.
How long does the experience take?
Dragon Capture and Rift Recon run on 40-minute timers, while Rift Strike is 20 minutes. Expect to spend an additional 15-20 minutes beyond gameplay for check-in and the tutorial.
Are there age restrictions?
Yes. Due to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, and the nature of The Rift, we highly encourage ages 13 years or older.
Can you tell me more about the art featured in The Rift??
The Rift features a unique blend of artwork from local artists, purchased pieces, and original designs created by our in-house team in collaboration with AI. If you’re curious about any of the art within the maze, we’d love to hear your questions!
Is this a game app? Can I play it at home or is it a physical location I need to drive to?
It is a physical location in Provo, UT. As a couple you will use your eyes, ears, and our Rift Investigation Society devices to interact with the physical environment.
Is the experience replayable?
Yes! You may use items that you collect in The Rift on future visits. We also plan to eventually expand our story so you can discover new things each time!
What if I don't like the experience?

Is this an escape room?
While it shares some similarities—like a timer and the chance of failure—our experiences are designed to be immersive and collaborative rather than competitive. Unlike most escape rooms, our adventures are more approachable and easier to solve, making them enjoyable for a wider range of participants. It’s particularly ideal for one-on-one dates, offering a unique and engaging way to connect.
